Few Clostridium botulinum group III genomes are available in the public database. They originate from different country but none from France. In order to investigate thoroughly the genetic relationship between the strains originating from different geographical area, we sequenced seventeen strains of Clostridium botulinum group III, fourteen types C/D and three types D/C. They all originate from France, except for one type D/C which was isolated from New Caledonia.
